"Petrified" Terrorist?

In a This is London article titled “’Distraught’ passengers describe mayhem on Tube,” a witness was quoted as saying a “suspected suicide bomber…looked absolutely petrified” as police were “hotly pursuing him.” Another witness said, “There were at least 20 of them (officers) and they were carrying big black guns.”

Oh my. Did the big bad policemen scare the little bitty terrorist?

Actually, they shot him dead.

So let’s try again. Start with the title: “Terrorist attempting mass murder brought to justice.”

Scrap the rest of the article, except for the last quote from a female witness: “I am confident that the police and security forces are doing an excellent job.”

UPDATE: Police now say this person was a Brazilian national with no ties to terrorism, and they have apologized for their "mistake." What mistake did they make? They pursued and killed a person dressed like a terrorist, acting like a terrorist, in a place where terrorism had just taken place. Foolish behavior has consequences.

UPDATE 2: Police say they will not give up their "shoot-to-kill in order to protect" policy, and warn that more innocent people may be killed in the war on terror. What other line could they take that wouldn't empower terrorists? It took guts to say it, but it was the right thing to say.
